Bowie Float Yellow

When I started to paint this portrait it began to remind me of the Walt Disney Mickey Mouse logo that precedes Mickey Mouse cartoons. I ‘lifted’ the head from my David Bowie Pin Ups album cover which I had taken in Paris at the beginning of the seventies. I particularly like the custard yellow background (very Mickey Mouse) which I must confess, I use often in my portraits.
